About the Writer
Hello! It's me, the writer.
This blog is my attempt to get back into a regular writing schedule, and to act as a place to deposit my various ideas and opinions about RPG's and related stuff.
My life as of now has few chances to actually run or play games, but a lot of time to think about them. I'm one of those types of people who runs up the walls if they don't get their weekly dose of gaming - and I'm really hoping this will work as a substitute.
Personal info that might be relevant for this blog:
Picks from my RPG shelf in no particular order: 13th Age, Exalted Essence, Mothership, Legend of the Five Rings (5e), Lamentations of the Flame Princess, Salvage Union, Sotakarjut, Eclipse Phase, Red Markets, Genesys.
Politically I'm positioned in the Radical Left (somewhere around the communist/anarchist area). This probably won't be all that relevant as this is a blog for elfgames, not activism, but I like reading games through anticapitalist lens and I'll probably write things from that viewpoint. Also, Trans rights are human rights, Free Palestine, No war but class war etcetera.
About the Blog
This is a blog about RPG's. My target schedule is one post a week so I'll get this thing running. Later, once I run out of old material, we might settle for a post every two weeks.
This space is still searching for its final form, so I'm not ready to set out specific themes. You can expect to find posts about various different games, such as OSR and Exalted, but also more niche (and maybe even mainstream games). I enjoy reading and trying out new, interesting game systems and this blog should reflect that.
I'm Finnish, but I chose use English as my main working language so that more people might find me. If I happen to post something in Finnish, I'll try to include a rough translation for the international crowd.
And, as with all times one doesn't write with their native language, if you read something that looks strange, please leave a comment and ask me to elaborate! I'm trying to be more spontaneous and less perfectionist than I tend to be, so we better expect there'll be rough and unfinished thoughts in the mix.
Comment Policy
If you find a post interesting, please leave a comment! I welcome questions, follow up ideas, and other relevant discussion. I'll try to reply, if and when I have the time and energy.
Please keep the discussion on topic, be respectful towards each other. Please don't be a bigot, play a devil's advocate or troll.
I hope this is enough for a start. Lets update it later if it becomes necessary.
